Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Hunan Province, China
From Yaogangxian Mine in China, this fluorite is an ice cube set in matrix! Its light blue transparent form is the perfect viewing window for the dark purple phantom standing out in its center. It rests on rounded aggregates of tan siderite which can also be viewed through the fluorite crystal. It also has some cute inclusions of chalcopyrite on the surface which are the perfect accent against the glass luster of the cube. There is a minor contact zone on one corner which has recrystallized. This is difficult to see given the stair stepping and growth structures of this cube. There are milky inclusions on the side of the cube nearest the siderite matrix. Overall, this is a great piece of a Chinese locality that is becoming harder and harder to obtain.
